Pebduna is a writer whose work explores relationships, love, trauma, ambition, and the complicated ways people survive and reinvent themselves. Growing up in poverty on a reservation shaped much of her perspective and continues to influence the emotional honesty present throughout her writing. Her experiences witnessing cycles of abuse, generational hardship, limited opportunity, and resilience within Native communities have deeply impacted her interest in human behavior, survival, and emotional complexity. Outside of screenwriting, Pebduna also writes short stories, novels, and poetry. Her stories are often inspired by solo travel, human connection, and conversations with strangers along the way. She is deeply interested in the ways people love, cope, self-destruct, heal, and search for meaning, believing that many choices are ultimately driven by the need for belonging. Much of her writing comes from observing the emotional lives of others as well as her own. Her travels have strengthened her connection to nature, spirituality, and constant movement, themes that frequently appear throughout her work. Pebduna is currently attending flight school to become a commercial pilot, an experience that has deepened her interest in isolation, freedom, overcoming fear, and the search for meaning. Her storytelling is heavily influenced by film, memory, and emotionally driven characters, aiming to create work that feels raw, intimate, and truthful to real life.
