Anthony Magaña

Tony (Western Shoshone & Mexican-American) is a filmmaker and writer based in Oakland, California. His work is inspired by a unique upbringing in small town Nevada –infusing humor, heart, and unique perspective to all his stories. He is a recipient of Netflix’s Writer Accelerator Grant, the Berkeley Film Foundation narrative grant, and an alum of Native American Media Alliance’s (NAMA) TV Lab. His work has screened at LA Skins Fest, and most recently, he helped in art research for the docu-series People of the West. He is currently in post-production on his film Hoops. He enjoys weekend pickup basketball, guitar, and doodling. He has two cats–Guillermo & Reggie. They are brothers.
