Alana Tiikpuu

Alana Tiikpuu is a non-binary Nez Perce and Navajo writer and director from Lapwai, Idaho. They are a 2019 graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts, where they majored in Cinematic Arts & Technology. Alana has gone on to become a fellow of the LA Skins Fest Animation lab, the Native Arts & Culture Fund, Vision Maker Media, and the Confluence Project, as well as a mentee of the Netflix Animation Foundations. Alana’s short film has played at the Tomorrow theater in Portland, Oregon and has another short film, Goat Song, that is coming out in the near future. Alana has also worked with the Nez Perce Language program to create an animation of a traditional coyote story. Alana continues their work as a story teller, and is continuously working on art in various mediums at their home on the Nez Perce rez.
