Andrew Luna is an animator studying at the New York Film Academy, driven by a deep passion for storytelling through storyboards, comics, and animation. Growing up in Granada Hills, California, as the second oldest of five children, Andrew developed a strong sense of family and community, which inspires much of his work today. Los Angeles, with its vibrant culture and history as a hub for creativity, has fueled his ambition to pursue animation as a career. Surrounded by the rich diversity and energy of the city, Andrew sees animation as a medium unlike any other, capable of blending art and storytelling to bring fantastical tales to life. Andrew works primarily in independent media, including creating video game assets for The Beam Dream Team and illustrating comics with Draw Studios. As part of his studies, he is currently directing his thesis project, showcasing his vision and skills as an artist and storyteller. Andrew is also a proud member of the Tataviam Band of Mission Indians and hopes to serve as a positive representation of Native Americans in the animation industry. Andrew’s dedication to his craft is evident in his leadership as president of the Art Hub, a club of over 25 illustrators, where he fosters a collaborative space for young artists. His artistic journey includes completing the California State Summer School for the Arts, a highly selective and rigorous program that admits only the most committed young artists. At CSSSA, Andrew honed his skills while working alongside talented peers, deepening his appreciation for collaborative art and refining his storytelling abilities. Andrew remains committed to using his talents to bring diverse stories to life, and to inspire future generations of Native American artists in the animation industry. For him, animation is not just a career, but a powerful tool for cultural expression and a way to share stories that uplift and connect people.
