Daniel Walker

Daniel is an indigenous documentary filmmaker focused on cross-cultural storytelling for international audiences. He’s worked on several Netflix documentary series filmed in South Korea including the recently released Heart of Invictus, he’s co-directed and edited videos for Frieze’s “Now & Next” artist series in South Korea, and helped produce a dramatic feature film, Mother Midnight, that won best feature at the London Breeze Film Festival. Currently, Daniel is producing and directing his first feature documentary film that follows his personal journey of reconnecting with his tribe. As an unbounded filmmaker, Daniel seeks connection through stories, people, communities, and cultures of the world. And as a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, he aims to honor his heritage by using his filmmaking abilities to promote Cherokee history and culture to global audiences while telling stories centered on modernity and American Indian identity.
