Born and raised in Oklahoma, Matt Kappele is a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Matt’s love for film began at a young age when he would spend summers with his Choctaw grandmother, who introduced him to many of his favorite films, such as Godzilla, King Kong, and Jurassic Park, to name a few. He grew up with a strong connection to family, who taught him many life lessons in his adolescence. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, and currently works for a federal grant program at a community college where his goal is to help high school students from low-income households find ways to gain access to college.
