Matthew Rochester is a Native American writer and member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Born and raised in the backyard of the Smoky Mountains, he comes from very humble beginnings, growing up in a trailer and dealing with drug abuse, domestic violence, and fanatic religion. Rising through, Matthew now holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing and Film Studies from UNCW, studied in the Czech Republic, and has a Masters Degree in Screenwriting at Chapman University. He was a fellow in the 3rd Annual LA Skins Feature Film Writers Lab. Currently, he is working on a comic book adaptation with Image Comics, and is also developing a television pilot and series for Wattpad based on one of their published properties.Matthew Rochester
